The 2016-17 season of the Premier League is kicking off on August 13 and players along with managers are getting ready for what is expected to be the most difficult but at the same time most exciting season in the top tier English League.
A slew of highly rated managers and players have recently been joining English clubs and this is one of the main reasons of why the approaching season is predicted to be as one of the most thrilling ones, unfortunately for Stoke City’s Stephen Ireland he will not be taking part of this new season for around 9 months due to a broken leg.
According to the medical staff of Stoke City, Stephen Ireland will be out of action for the upcoming 3-6 months as the Irish midfielder broke his leg during a training session with Stoke City.
This injury was originally sustained on May of the ongoing year and this injury is a huge blow for Stephen Ireland as the player has a contract with Stoke City which extends until the next year and he has to perform well in order to have any realistic chance of getting a consistent spot in the first team and maybe even earn a contract extension that could keep him in Stoke City for a further extended period of time.
Mark Hughes has a tendency of overlooking Stephen Ireland and this is why the Irish player has had to settle with a place on the sidelines for the majority of the 2015-16 season with almost all of his appearances arriving from the bench.
Ever since Ireland joined Stoke City in September of 2013, he has been slipping down in the ranks as each season that passes by, the Irish player has made fewer appearances and now with this recent injury it will make things even more difficult for Ireland to snatch a spot in the main team.
