The Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton has hailed Roy Keane for the positive influence he had on the club for the small period of time that he was there.
Keane was added to the management team of Villa just before the start of the season, but, he could not hang on to his position even for the whole season and the previous week, he announced that he had parted ways with the club.
The reason that Keane gave to the media and to the Villa fans for his exit was that he wanted to concentrate on his other job i.e. of the assistant manager of the Ireland national team.
But, this is not believed to be the real reason behind Keane deciding to get himself aside of the club affairs.
The reports say that a few days back, while Villa’s training session was going on, Keane had an altercation with some senior players and that has actually made him quit.
Not all the Villa players are feeling happy to have seen the back of the former Manchester United legend though. For some of them including Hutton, it came as an absolute shock.
According to Hutton, Keane was very approachable even for the young players. At any time, a player could have gone and had a chat with him about the game.
Talking to the reporters yesterday, Hutton said, “I could not believe when I heard it. I wonder why he was off suddenly. But, later I realized that for somebody to be able to perform the dual role, it can be a bit difficult and hectic.”
“I personally liked Roy a lot. Yes, he was a bit demanding in training, but, that was because he wanted us to keep improving and raising our game.”
